    Landfills

    Nassau Landfill, Jacksonville Florida

Development of a groundwater model using the Hydrologic Evaluation of Landfill Performance (HELP) model to estimate water balances for municipal landfill permitting purposes. This model incorporated weather, soil, and design data and applied solution techniques that accounted for the impacts from surface storage, runoff, infiltration, evapotranspiration, vegetative growth, and soil moisture storage. Additional features including lateral subsurface drainage, leachate recirculation, unsaturated vertical drainage, and leakage through soil, geomembrane, or composite liners.
